There is a huge range of choices in glazing, for instance: energy-saving, sound-absorbing, safety, anti-burglary and solar glass.
Solar glass
This category includes several types of special-purpose glazing designed to reduce the effect of the sun in interiors – both in terms of heat transfer and excessive light penetration. The most common solutions are milk glass, glass with one-way mirror effect as well as bronze reflex glass.
Thermal insulating glass – energy efficient
This type of glazing is designed to provide the best possible thermal insulation of a room, which is especially important in temperate climates, where there are significant temperature differences between seasons. Thermal insulating glazing is covered with an extremely thin layer of precious metals, so in winter it minimizes heat loss from the room, while in summer it prevents excessive heating.
Sound-absorbing glazing
Sound-absorbing glazing provides excellent sound insulation along with comfort for people in rooms whose windows face, for example, busy streets (low-frequency sounds) or children’s playgrounds (high-frequency sounds). The effect of sound-absorbing glass is related to the thickness of the glass – the thicker the glass, the better it protects against outside noise. Such glazing can be made of ordinary glass, tempered glass or laminated glass with a film. The space between the layers of glass is filled with heavy gases.
Safety glass
Safety glass is usually layered glass or glass made of laminated or tempered glass that does not shatter into small fragments when broken. This type of glazing primarily provides protection against injury from glass shards.
Anti-burglary glass
Burglar-proof glass, as the name suggests, protects windows from a burglary. Mostly they are layered glass, made of two layers of glass and between 2 to 4 layers of PVB film. The film strengthens the structure of the glass – the more layers of film, the more resistant the glass is to mechanical damage. We can divide anti-burglary glass into 8 classes: P1A, P2A, P3A, P4A, P5A, P6B, P7B and P8B. The strength of glazing in each class varies significantly. For example, according to the standard, glazing of the P3A class can replace the grid made of Ø10 steel wire, with meshes up to 150 mm, while glazing of the P8B class replaces the grid made of steel bars with diameters up to Ø16.
ActivPilot hardware:
WinkHaus’ aktivPilot hardware is used as standard on our windows. Strikers and locking elements in the shape of octagonal mushrooms ensure an adequate level of security against a burglary. It is important that the strikers are mounted to the steel that reinforces the frame. The level of anti-burglary protection depends on the number of strikers used. All strikers used in our windows are security strikes that significantly affect the security.
COMFORT hardware – optional
The AktivPilot Comfort hardware in addition to the turn and tilt function has an option of parallel lifting the sash from the frame. In this position, an approx. 6-mm gap is created between the sash and the frame that allows for natural ventilation when the window is securely locked.
The air circulation is achieved by setting the window in ventilation position. This option eliminates the problem of moisture accumulation in rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and bedrooms. Thanks to optimal ventilation, excess moisture is expelled to the outside, protecting the rooms from the risk of mould or mildew, which not only damages the walls, but is also harmful to our health.
The hardware is also available in an electrically operated version – the possibility of resetting the sash by pressing the appropriate option on the control panel or using the remote control.

Select fittings – optional
AktivPilot Select is a tilt and turn fitting that fits completely into the space under the sash rebate. Thanks to this design, the hinges are invisible when the window is closed. This solution is a great option for people who value aesthetics. It allows a free choice of window colours, whereas surface-mounted fittings limit this freedom due to the visible hinge covers, which are available in a small number of colours. In addition to its aesthetic qualities, a window with invisible hinges has better insulation parameters. The hinges are completely hidden between the sash and the frame. This avoids the formation of a thermal bridge and maintains the continuity of the seal around the perimeter of the window. ActivPilot Select has a modular design. With just two additional components, the load capacity of the hardware can be increased from the standard 100 kg to 150 kg.
Graduated tilt for RU windows
Allows independent ventilation dosage according to the season, weather or humidity in individual rooms. The tilt graduation is the part of the RU window fitting and therefore its installation does not require any interference with the profile and reinforcement. It also prevents the window from spontaneously closing due to draughts. The element is offered as standard in the ActivPilot hardware system.
Handle rotation lock
Prevents the handle from moving incorrectly thus protecting the window sash from falling off the top hinge and from possible damage to the hardware. Recommended for those who value easy, stress-free window operation. The element is offered as standard with the ActivPilot hardware system.
Balcony Latch
Convenient and aesthetically pleasing element that allows balcony doors to be closed from the outside of the house. Appreciated by those who frequently use the terrace exit. Available in a multitude of colours for all balcony doors.
ActivPilot Control window closing sensors – optional
The ActivPilot Control is a special contact striker mounted on the window frame that interacts with specially prepared hardware on the sash. They enable to monitor the position of the window, control the air conditioning and also work in conjunction with the alarm system. The ActivPilot Control locking sensors, integrated into the hardware, are discreetly concealed between the sash and the frame.
Hoppe SECUSTIK handles
Secustik handles are equipped with a locking mechanism that is an integrated basic safety device that makes it difficult to move the window hardware from the outside. At the same time, the engaging element between the handle and the bolt acts as a kind of mechanical diode. This allows the handle to be operated normally from the inside, but locks it if an attempt is made to manipulate it with the hardware from the outside. Turning the Secustik handle 180 degrees from the closed to the tilted position causes the self-locking mechanism to audibly snap into place.
